TODAY TOK TO OPERATING SYSTEM
The operating system(OS) which is a software that organizes and control all the component of a computer. All computer needs an operating system to function.
in early days(and even to day also) the commonly use operating system was
disk operating system or commonly known DOS.
it is a single user character mode based operating system. we have to understant
and learn of commands to work and operate the computer and it was not at all user friend ly.
To over come the short comings of Disk Operating System and to make the operating system more powerfull and user friendly, a new operating system
was lunched by Microsoft USA. The basic idea of lunching this operating system
was to make a Graphical User interface (GUI) bet ween the ccomputer and its user the earlier version of Windows were it self a progrome Which operate on
dos but after that window it self valued as an operating system. So we can say that windows is a GUI based operating system. which is user friendly and which can use bthe maximum of newly invented hardware's. it provides a platform
for other GUI software's to execute.
1.1 Characteristics of a windows operating system :
Microsoft windows is a series of softwarte operating system and graphic uses
interface produced by Microsoft. Microsoft windows come to dominate the world's personal computer market, Mac O.S. At the 2004 IDC Direections
conferance,it was stated that windows had approximately 90%of the client operating system market. The popularity of windows operating syswtem
has following reasons.
Windows is attractive : Windows operating system uses graphics which make it a very attractive operating system one allway like picture then simple tax. if a story is told through picture (also known as graphics), it appers more instresting
and can be retained for a long period of times
windows is easy to use: you will find it easier to work in windows due to that use of graphics. You can give commands directly through the mouch by clicking
on its graphical representation (called icon).
